Executive Summary
Canine Campus, in Charlottesville, VA is the retail/ marketing division of Canine
Campus, LLC the public face of trainer Deven Day Gaston, MA, CPDT -KA, CBCC-
KA. Deven , the author of the Canine Campus podcast, and one of only fifty -seven
Certified Behavior Consultants - Canine, is internationally known for her educational
materials that feature the use of compassionate consequences to enrich the human -do
bond.
Canine Campus encourages a handler to partner up with her /his dog by providing
training and management tools that do not cause pain or discomfort (i.e. Freedom
Harnesses, Gentle Leader Head Halters, and other instructional equipment), and
instruction on the use of those products. At all times, with the products we sell and
endorse, we respect the dog as an individual, one who is hard -wired with certain
characteristics. The goal of our business is to help celebrate these characteristics by
providing appropriate outlets with products like interactive food toys (i.e. Busy Buddy
Food Toys, Kongs, etc.). In our experience, a dog whose environment is enriched in
ways that are meaningful for her is able to engage in a more productive and fun
relationship with her human. Our belief in this philosophy is endorsed by over 200,000
downloads of our online educational products. We also provide training in the use of
the compassionate consequences training strategy through private training sessions
and small group classes.
