Claudette:
I have attached our revised landscaping plan. A couple of quick notes:
1. You will note on the revised plan that Mike Perry, our Landscape Architect, suggests planting River Birch in
lieu of the Serviceberry as it will better blend into the natural setting. Should you have any questions and /or
concerns, I have copied Mike on this email.
2. Mike has removed the solar lighting.
I understand what you have written regarding ordering materials before receiving the permit. In a typical circumstance,
how long would you expect it to be before we can pick up the permit? The sign is staked and ready for inspection.
Thank you for your help, Claudette. Please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Reed F. Davis

Hi Reed,
Sorry I could not respond to you earlier today. It has been a crazy day.
• Two (2) small to medium multi -trunk trees would be good.
• We suggest you wait to receive your approval before ordering materials.
Hope this answers your questions and is helpful.

Claudette
Thank you for your review. We will proceed with these revisions.
Our Landscape Architect is on the road today, but he is going to revise his plan tonight and return to me; however, I
have a couple of questions related to this:
• Your note regarding the serviceberry references "tree" and "trees." What is the quantity of required trees?
One?
• There are no notes regarding stone for the sign. Does that mean that the County has approved the
submitted materials? As I've stated, I desperately need to release the mason to order these materials due to
lead time issues. My apologies if this should be self- evident; however, I'm not familiar with the sign permit
review process and don't want to overstep our bounds.
Thank you for your assistance.

Subject: Commonwealth Senior Living - Sign Application
Hello Reed,
I have reviewed the subject sign application. The following revision is requested to make the proposal consistent with
the Entrance Corridor Sign Guidelines:
• Revise the sign drawing to include 12' —15' tall multi -trunk trees such as serviceberry (or other similar type
tree) to be located at the north side of the sign, outside of the easement. The tree combined with the proposed
landscaping will help anchor the sign. Regarding the landscaping in general, planting more evergreens than
grasses is suggested.
• If solar lighting is no longer planned for this sign, please eliminate reference to solar lighting on revised plan.
• This sign application refers to the "Commonwealth Senior Living" panel /portion of the sign. The vacant
panel will require a sign permit in the future when that sign application is requested. Once approved any
changes in the signor materials will require anew application and additional review.
Please respond by email within 15 days of the date of this e -mail indicating whether you will or will not proceed with
these revisions. Your decision to make the revisions will suspend the 60 -day review period associated with your original
submittal. If you choose to complete the revisions, please email the revised drawings to me. If you choose not to
proceed with these revisions, staff will be unable to approve your application. Failure to respond to this letter shall be
presumed to be a request to proceed to.action on the application without further revisions.
If you have any questions about this action, please contact me. I look forward to receiving your revisions and completing
this review with an approval letter. Thank you
Claudette Grant
