R o a d P l a n s (SUB201400215) 1) Sheet 4 — Provide design that will turn ditch flow from west (along Waterside Way) to south (Osprey Drive). Qio (1.81 cfs) will not reasonably turn 90° at this location. Q2 will erode roadway embankment. Option: install culvert pipe (80 -100' L) at 45° to transition flow west to south. Alternatively, continue ditch west beneath Osprey, and revise VSMP as needed. (Rev. 1) Addressed. 2) Sheet 4 — SWM Facility `C' Access, south of Lot 19: provide ditch north of access road to intercept slope runoff /protect facility access. Direct runoff to the inlet of Culvert #28. (Rev. 1) Addressed. 3) Sheet 4 — Revise label proposed Ditch #1 to concrete flume (VESCH, Spec 3.16). Recommend shading features which are either concrete ditch (VESCH 3.17), or flume (3.16). (Rev. 1) Withdrawn. Applicant response: "Per VDOT drainage Manual 7.4.6.3.2, EC -3 Type A jute ditch allows for velocities up to 7 fps." Ditch #1 design Ve12_? =5.57 fps /sheet 9. 4) Ref. VESCH for design requirements, concrete flume /Ditch #1. Furnish design, dimensions, and details to aid construction. Transfer details /notes from VESCH Specs. 3.16/3.17, to plans. (Rev. 1) Withdrawn. 5) Update VSMP to reflect VESCH technical specifications for concrete flume /stormwater conveyance. Review VDOT standards for concrete conveyance (ref. VESCH /pg. I1I -137). (Rev. 1) Withdrawn. 6) Sheet 5 — Revise road classification schedule Waterside Way VPD to 230 (10 VPD /lot). This should not affect DR, or pavement thicknesses. (Rev. 1) Addressed. 7) Sheet 5 — Provide detail for asphalt walking trail where it meets driveways (plan/profile). (Rev. 1) Addressed. 8) Sheet 5 — Revise typical roadway sections. Dimensions indicate 49' and 57' RW width. (Rev. 1) Addressed. 9) Sheet 7 — MH -31 to MH -27 profile/MH -27 to Ex. MH- CC -4 -1 profile: sewer mains between 26 -27 and 27 -28 to be ductile iron. Please revise. (Ref ACSA email: 3/30/2015 11:55 AM) (Rev. 1) Addressed. 10) Sheet 8 — Revise storm pipe grade between Str. 6 and 4A: Max =16 %. This should not affect MH type or design, or other elements of design. (Rev. 1) Partially addressed. As follow - up, see ACDSM, 6. Drainage Systems (collection and conveyance), which provides link to Engineering Review Comments Page 2 of 2 (.PDF) Engineering review drainage plans checklist: ACDSM /Sec. 6 A. Plans: for plan requirements please refer to the review checklist at http:ll www. albemade. orOdeptforms .aspFdepartment=cdengwTpo.. For purposes of this [resign manual, the review checklist sets review policy, and is an integral part of the manual. Checklist/p.2 pipe slopes at 0.5% thin_ to 16% max. (per VDOT Ands for anchors over 16 %) Revise: 16% max —If restore Str. #6 nvv. OUT to initial 361.30', pipe 5 slope =14.1% (f). 11) Sheet 8 — Revise grade, pipe 7 or 9 such that INV elevations at Str. 6 are not both 367.00. These pipes connect with structure 6 at 55° an angle that may not work given dimensions of MH penetrations required to accommodate 15" DtA storm pipes. Note max pipe grade, 16 %. (Rev. 1) Addressed. 12) Sheet 9 — Include Culvert 28 in pipe design table. It differs fundamentally from driveway pipes. (Rev. 1) As follow -up, reconcile Qto pipe design/sheet 9 = 6.89cfs with Qro culvert design/sheet 10 = 7.27cfs. 13) Sheet 9 — Ditch 2: indicate jute sections on profile /cross - reference table (Sta. 0 +00 — 2 +00). (Rev. 1) As follow -up, restore Sta. From column (see initial RP). Ditch 2 table covers Sta. 3 +00 to Sta. 0 +00 (ref. initial RP). 14) Sheet 9 — For each circle inset ditch detail, indicate slope 3: 1, consistent with typical road sections, sheet 5. (Rev. 1) Addressed. 15) Sheet 9 — Ditch tables: include total ditch width, consistent with typical sections, sheet 5. (Rev. 1) Addressed. 16) Sheet 10 — Provide separate plan/profile details for (DI -12) inlet 2 and inlet 10. Show Qio depth = 8.2" and 7.5" respectively, profile views. Furnish design/spot elev. to guide grading. (Cross - reference grades, sheet 4.) (Rev. 1) Addressed. 17) Include details for private entrances for private streets (Waterside Way and Osprey Drive), and public streets. VDOT requires driveway entrance radius 20 -ft, Min. Alb. Co. will in this case accept 12' radius driveway entrance on private streets. Inehide detaik, belew. Indicate on sheet 3 (or elsewhere) which entrance detail applies to Lots 24, 25, 26, Carroll Creek Road. (Rev. 1) As follow -up, DELETE private entrance detail caption reference to Waterside Way /Carroll Creek road intersection, and Waterside Way /Osprey Drive road intersection since these are road intersections, not entrances. Retain 25' R at intersections, as shown on sheet 3. Please call if any questions. Thank you. 434.296 -5832 -0069 File: SUB201400215- Glenmore Sect K2C Road- 052215rev1
