HomeMy WebLinkAboutARB201500056 Review Comments Miscellaneous Submittal 2015-05-26Brent Nelson From: Brent Nelson Sent: Tuesday, May 19, 2015 5:28 PM To: 'tina @mcbridesigns.com' Cc: Stewart Wright; Margaret Maliszewski Subject: ARB 2015 -56 Med Express Signs, Staff Comments Attachments: ARB 15- 56_Drawing.pdf Importance: High Tina, I have reviewed the above -noted sign application (sign package attached). The following revisions are requested to make the proposal consistent with the Entrance Corridor Sign Guidelines. 1. Sheet 4A Elevation Drawings shows a new 2 -story building entrance portal (dark brown color) in the Front Elevation and Left Side Elevation. Any change to the building exterior (like this), visible from Route 250 E, will require Architectural Review Board (ARB) approval and an approved building permit; neither have been applied for. It is not clear from the drawings whether other visible changes to the building are proposed. Approval of the wall signage cannot be granted until ARB approval of the building redesign has been granted. a. Contact Margaret Maliszewski, Design Planner (mmaliszewski @albemarle.org or 434 - 296 -5832 ext. 3276) for guidance on making the ARB submission for the building redesign. b. Contact Stewart Wright, Zoning Permit Planner (swright2 @albemarle.org or 434 - 296 -5832 ext. 3024) for guidance on making the building permit application. 2. Be advised that the cross graphic shown in the revised entrance portal will be treated as signage (S. Wright) and will require ARB approval (M. Maliszewski). 3. The proposed freestanding monument sign is not expected to be visible from the Route 250 E. Entrance Corridor; therefore, it will not require ARB approval. It will require an approved sign permit (S. Wright). Please respond by email within 15 days of the date of this email indicating whether you will or will not be addressing the comments above.
