Dear Business Owner,
We are reaching out to you as a business whose signage will be directly affected by the
upcoming construction of the Route 29/ Rio Road grade separated interchange. We want to
assure you that the County is taking steps to accommodate affected business signs prior to
and during construction, including considering extending the length of time that temporary
signs may be used. Our goal is to have the necessary amendments to the County's sign
regulations in place by the time the signs are removed. In addition, the County is planning a
broader assistance effort for businesses impacted by Route 29 Solutions construction and
will be posting information about the resources that will be available on the County website,
www.albemarle.org, in the coming months.
Your feedback is welcome as the County considers amending its sign regulations in
response to the Route 29/ Rio Road interchange project. If you have any questions or
comments about the ordinance amendments affecting business signage, you may contact
