Re: SDP -20I5 -00040 Virginia Asphalt Services Final Site Plan
Dear Mr. Perez:
We have reviewed the Final site plan for Virginia Asphalt Services dated September 30, 2015, latest
revision of September 29, 2015, as submitted by Terra Concepts, P.C. and offer the following comments:
1. It is understood that it is difficult to replicate the proposed two- way -left -turn ( TWLTL); however,
it should be drawn as accurately as possible. For example, the turn arrows have been presented in
the incorrect direction, the existing striping at the north end of the TWLTL should also be
eradicated, and a 50' gap should be provided where the TWLTL transitions back into a left turn
lane (south of proposed entrance). Also the existing left turn arrow should be eradicated and
replaced just past the proposed gap for the left turn lane into the CAT entrance. See attachment
for guidance. This detail can be found in the MUTCD, Virginia supplement, Figure 38 -7, on
page 3 -59.
If you need additional information concerning this project, please do not hesitate to contact me at (434)

Shelly PIaster
