Deed Book 154, page 491, dated January 14, 1914 conveyed 63 acres from W. G.
Moran & Eva Moran, Ann E. Moran, Sarah J. Napier & James M. Napier and Betty E.
Napier & P. F. Napier to M. B. Hudson, W. N Hudson and E. W. Hudson. The property
is described as all that certain tract or parcel of land on the headwaters of the South
Hardware about two miles from Covesville, in Albemarle County, Virginia, estimated to
contain sixty three (63) acres, more or less, being a sale in gross and not by the acre
and being all of the remnant of those certain tracts or parcels devised to R. L. Moran on
May 5, 1856 by the will in Will Book 24, page 15.
Deed Book 68, page 149, dated August 8, 1873 conveyed 50 acres from R. L. Moran
and wife to Joseph S. Hudson. The property is described as a certain tract or parcel of
land lying on some of the head branches of the South Hardware in the County of
Albemarle, on the West side of the 100 acre tract heretofore sold to the said Joseph S.
Hudson, and supposed to contain about fifty acres but the exact quantity to be
ascertained by an accurate survey. The property is further described by metes and
bounds. The source of title is not provided.
Deed Book 66, page 365, dated June 29, 1871 conveyed 100 acres from Robert L.
Moran & Elizabeth A. Moran to Joseph S. Hudson. The property is described by metes
and bounds. The source of title is not provided.
In the mid 1970s a 185.5 acre tract was combined with a 61.75 acre tract to create
Parcel 24 as it is shown on the tax map today. This was at the initiative of the County. A
copy of the page from the real estate history file is included in this file.
