The Chick-Fil-A Plans (WPO201400072) submitted 26 August 2014 have received Engineering
Review and do not appear to meet Albemarle County minimum checklist items for approval. The
Following items will need to be adequately addressed prior to final approval:
A. Street plan (SUB2014000104)
(A separate road and drainage plan is required if the property is to be bonded for subdivision.)
1. VDOT approval is required. Comments will be forwarded when received
2. County comments sent under separate cover.
B. Site plan (SDP2014000053)
(A site plan is a record of zoning compliance on the property. It should not include VSMP plans.)
1. Code Chapter 18 section 32, part of the Zoning Ordinance.
2. County comments sent under separate cover.
C. Plat (SUB2014000104)
(A plat is a record of property division or reservation. Code Chapter 14)
1. All streets and infrastructure must be approved and bonded prior to plat approval for subdivisions
(with the exception of easements necessary for construction, access, or site plan approval).
2. County comments sent under separate cover.
D. VSMP: SWPPP and Pollution Prevention Plan (WPO201400072)
(The Virginia stormwater management program, stormwater pollution prevention plan application and
documents)
1. Please provide a copy of the DEQ Coverage Letter with the expiration date of June 30, 2019.
E. VSMP: SWPPP: Stormwater Management Plan (WPO201400072)
1. The plan must demonstrate compliance with quality and quantity requirements using the Runoff
Reduction Method. Please use the VRRM spread sheet from VDEQ.
F. VSMP: SWPPP: Erosion and Sediment Control Plan (WPO201400072)
Engineering Review Comments

1. Plan does not appear to protect the site from sediment loss, but instead appears to divert stormwater
runoff into State Right of Way. Please submit an E&SC plan that meets or exceeds the Virginia State
Minimum Standards for Erosion and Sediment Control. In addition to the State requirements the
County of Albemarle has additional E&SC requirements that can be found in the County Design
Standards Manual to be shown on the plan.

esign_standards_manual/Albemarle_County_Design_Standards_Manual_29Apr2014_draft.pdf
2. Site may require phasing of the erosion and sediment control plan due to lack of open/available
perimeter area for minimum perimeter controls per VESCH.
G. Mitigation Plan (WPO201400072)
(A mitigation plan is a plan of buffer disturbances, and replanting or restorative measures)
1. Not applicable to this project.
Once these comments have been addressed, please submit 3 of the revised plans, calculations, and
narratives to Current Development Engineering.
Current Development Engineering is available from 2:30-4 PM on Thursdays to discuss these review
comments. Please contact Max Greene at 434-296-5832 ext. 3283 or email mgreene@albemarle.org to
