Doug -
I have reviewed the above -noted sign application. The following revisions are requested to make the proposal consistent
with the Entrance Corridor Sign Guidelines.
1. Regarding ARB Sign Guideline: 8 Freestanding Signs (d) Landscaping: Use ground cover, shrubs and /or trees to
integrate freestanding signs into the overall landscape development of the site.
a. This comment has not been addressed in this submittal. The double post -mount sign design has an
awkward, unresolved appearance between the sign face (panel) and the ground below. Evergreen shrub
plantings could help to mitigate this issue and integrate the sign structure into the overall landscape
proposal.
i. Provide a planting plan using evergreen shrubs to integrate the sign structure into the overall
landscape. The intent being not to just encircle the sign structure with a single row of shrubs but
to provide a more free -form design that would integrate the sign with existing plantings.
ii. Suggestion: the approved landscape plan for this development (approved site plan attached — see
Sheet 3 of 4) uses Soft Touch Japanese Holly. A planting design with this shrub would be
appropriate
