Good afternoon gentlemen!
Guardrail does not appear to be warranted. However, the applicant may submit a barrier warrant if they feel
otherwise. Keep in mind that guardrail itself is a hazard and it should be used only as a last resort. It is my
understanding that the landscape architect was concerned for the children playing near the road and felt that
the guardrail would help protect them. If the applicant decides to install guardrail we would have no objection
provided that it is placed beyond the clearzone and beyond the limits of the right-of-way.
I hope this helps.

Shelly,
I don't know if p. 3 of(Attached)Applicant response to Special Use Permit 2014-00015 is accurate or not.
Letter mentions need for guardrail along Blackwell Hollow Rd. (Rt. 810)to meet VDOT requirements. —Attached photo
If you feel guardrail is required, would you mind revising VDOT comments for Christopher?
Thanks, Shelly
