We moved the hydrant assembly to the location shown because the fire department typically wants to have a dedicated hydrant within 50' of the Fire Department Connection (FDC) which is located within the Double Check Assembly vault. Leaving the hydrant at the existing location (where we previously had it being removed and replaced)would have been approx 75' . I'll call you to discuss further. Options as I see it: 1. The fire department agrees to the 75' of distance to the FDC from where the existing hydrant is located and we go back to replacing the existing hydrant in place. 2. ACSA agrees to the 33' of separation from the building (note that the grade at the hydrant is 7' in elevation lower than the finish floor of the proposed building as an argument to support this option) 3. The fire department agrees to an out of vault FDC and we extend piping for the FDC to the parking island that is centered on the building and within 50' of the existing hydrant location. If you'd like to add a note to the minor amendment plan indicating only the "tan-brown color range" for the block, that will work for now. You may want to provide me with the specific block color and manufacturer before you submit the retaining wall permit application to avoid any delays in approval of that permit. I would have made every effort to be there. I do not think there are any significant changes that we could not have addressed on the spot had I been there. I understand both of your points and agree on both. The stairs sounds like an issue that already had resolution. On the rock... As you know, Redi rock is a brand name and gravity wall system. Our team is still kicking around what is the best type of system wall to use. This will be identified in the specific retaining wall building permit and engineer report. In the meantime, can we agree that the wall will be in the Tan-Brown range regardless of what type of wall we use? I really do not have a preference. Thanks for your help. The Redi-Rock color should be in the tan-brown range. 2. The color of the hand rail and stair on the south side of the building should be coordinated with the building colors. I see that the stair color is identified on the elevation drawing as SW 6148. I found a sample of that color and it appears to be coordinated with the other building colors. Have you given the Redi-Rock color any more thought? I will need to be able to confirm that the block color is in the tan-brown range and the color will need to be noted on the minor amendment plan prior to approval. I can try to review the block color with on-line information, but a sample may be required.
