Bret,
Let me know how things go with the ARB...there may be other options beyond the travelway waiver. I'll need to talk it
through with David to get more specific info, but I don't think those are the only options.

Ellie,
I believe the only remaining issue not listed below is the drive across the frontage of the new GAC facility. We are going
to provide a sketch to ARB showing a 20' drive (I believe this is the minimum width for a travel way?)connecting the two
western driveways as we discussed in the meeting. If ARB objects to this as they did in the past we may need to discuss
the possibility of a travel width waiver for this connecting road.
Thanks,
Bret

Bret,
I wanted to follow up on some of the outstanding issues discussed in yesterday's SRC meeting,so here's is what I've
found so far:
1. I just sent Fire Rescue comments; I believe that should be the last of all potential reviewers.
2. The underground water meter vault is not subject to building setbacks, but will need to be outside of the
undisturbed buffer area.
3. Michelle will send information about, 1)WPO buffer(whether it's shown correctly in GIS), 2)Whether waivers
will be needed for gravel versus asphalt and no curbing, and 3) If the letter granting authority to develop the
parcel gives signatory authority for WPO related documents.
I think this covers the remaining questions, please let me know if I've neglected anything.
Thanks,

Ellie/Michelle,
I was checking on County View regarding the Crozet Site Plan and noticed a due date for a response on 6/05. Is it safe to
assume that we should have a response from the County no later than that date?
Michelle, I didn't see a due date for the WPO application. Do you expect to have a response to our resubmittal before
6/05 as well?
Any update on the status of these applications would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Bret

You should have my comments by that date (it's not guaranteed, but that's the target date for planning comments)...all
other reviewing departments/agencies have their own policies regarding turn-around times. They are usually pretty
close to my date, but they do have their own timelines.

Response to comments
Dear Ms. Ray:
Please find below response to comments made for the Crozet Water Treatment Plant. In response to
comments made by Albemarle County, Hazen and Sawyer offers the following on behalf of the Rivanna
Water and Sewer Authority.
Comments from Planning 6-5-14 Ellie Ray
34. [32.6.2(j) &32.7.9.4(b)] Existing trees may be preserved in lieu of planting new plant materials in
order to satisfy the landscaping and screening requirements of section 32.7.9 or to meet conditions of
approval, subject to the agent's approval. It appears that some of the Landscape Plan requirements
are proposed to be met with existing vegetation. The landscape plan should show the trees to be
preserved, the limits of clearing, the location and type of protective fencing, grade changes requiring
tree wells or walls, and trenching or tunneling proposed beyond the limits of clearing. In addition, the
applicant shall sign a conservation checklist approved by the agent to insure that the specified trees
will be protected during construction. Except as otherwise expressly approved by the agent in a
particular case, such checklist shall conform to specifications contained in the Virginia Erosion and
Sediment Control Handbook, pp III-284 through III-297, and as hereafter amended. This checklist
must be signed and dated.
Rev1: Comment addressed.
Rev2: The conservation checklist must be signed and dated as it was on the previous
revision.
Response: The tree conservation checklist on L41 has been signed.
41. This amendment cannot be approved until all comments from the Site Review Committee (SRC) have
been addressed. Any comments not available at the time of the SRC meeting will be forwarded once
received.
Rev1: Comment not fully addressed. Engineering and Fire/rescue have reviewed the SDP and
have no objection (WPO review still pending). The gravel waiver has also been approved by
Engineering. VDOT comments have been provided. ACSA review is forthcoming; comments, if
any, will be provided upon receipt. ARB approval is also required.
Rev2: This amendment cannot be approved until VDOT and ARB complete their reviews and
grant their approval; their comments will be forwarded upon receipt.
Response: VDOT and ARB have granted approval of the project. The landscaping plan L41
has been updated to reflect ARB comments.
Two (2)copies of the modified drawing set to be stamped have been provided, illustrating the
responses above. We trust this information will allow you to complete your review of the SDP
application. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
HAZEN AND SAWYER, P.C.
