RE: ARB201100019 Crozet Library, Phase I
Dear Ron,
have reviewed the plan recently submitted for the above referenced project, including sheets C -1.1, 1.2 2.1,
2.2, 2.3, 3.1, 4.0, 5.1, 6.1, and E1.0 and 1.1. The drawings had revision dates of 5/6/11 and 5/8/11. 1 have the
following comments:
1. The northern property line is not shown accurately on all sheets of the site plan set. Please revise the
plan to show the accurate property line.
2. The photometrics were calculated using alight loss factor of .81. To meet County requirements, alight
loss factor of 1.0 must be used. Please revise the photometric plan using a light loss factor of 1.0 and
note the light loss factor on the lighting plan. Ensure that light levels along the Library Avenue property
line do not exceed .5 footcandles.
3. Include this note on the plan: Each outdoor luminaire equipped with a lamp that emits 3,000 or more
initial lumens shall be a full cutoff luminaire. The spillover of lighting from luminaires onto public roads
and property in residential or rural areas zoning districts shall not exceed one -half footcandle.
Please provide one copy of revised drawings addressing these comments and include the attached "Revised
Application Submittal" form with the plans. The form must be returned with your revisions to ensure proper
tracking and distribution.
When staff's review of this information indicates that all conditions of approval have been met, a Certificate of
Appropriateness may be issued.
