Site development plans for "Stone Robinson Elementary School Parking and Student Drop -off'
has received Engineering review. The plans can be approved after the following items have been
adequately addressed.
1) Minor Site Plan (SDP201100007)
a) Please label the State road. [18- 32.5.6.i]
b) The new 8 bus loading and unloading area does not appear to be safe or convenient.
Appears buses will have to back up prior to loading and unloading elementary school
children. Please rethink the traffic pattern and flow design so that no backing up is
required of the buses.
c) Parking space (lowest of 3 in island, first shown on page C3.0) appears to require a
bumper block so cars will not hang over into travel way. Please adjust or remove the
parking space.
d) Please show and label existing edge of pavements and curb and gutters on plan sheets.
2) Stormwater Management and Mitigation Plan (WP0201100006)
a) Sediment forebay is required at each inflow point into SWM structure. Please
show forebays as required by Virginia Stormwater Management Handbook.
[VSMH Vol. 1 page 3.04]
b) Please clarify parking area turn- around above Bio- filter. Appears to be just edge of
pavement. Please show protective devices to prevent automobiles from rolling into bio-
filter. Bollards or guard railing disguised with vegetation is recommended.
3) Erosion Control Plan (WP0201100006)
a) Narrative does not appear complete according to VESCH. (examples: only one side of
adjacent property is described, size of disturbance, soils description, culvert inlet
protection is not shown on plan view)
b) Construction entrance detail will be changed to Albemarle County Temporary

c) Sediment trap should be constructed to the largest size required at the beginning of the
project. Phasing does not appear necessary for this project as the removal of topsoil and
silt fence sloping down grade will direct stormwater into perimeter control structure.
