RE: SDP 2 1000012 Crozet Elementary School — Minor Site Plan Amendment
Dear Ms. Frederick:
We have reviewed your comments from 2/26/10 and made the necessary revisions.
Please find our response to your comments below.
Community Development — Summer Frederick
1. All outdoor luminaries meet this requirement. Cut sheets for fixtures are now
provided on the Lighting Plan.
2. A landscape plan is now included in the plan set.
3. Acknowledged.

Engineering — Phil Custer
A. Minor Site Plan Amendment commets (SDP - 2010 - 00012)
1. Acknowledged.
2. Drainage computations are now provided on Sheet C6.0. The drainage area is also
indicated with Tc and C values.
3. Persuant to our meeting on 3/1/10, the outfall of the new 15" pipe has been relocated
to the existing channel. Channel computations are provided on Sheet C6.0.
The below responses are in regards to the email dated 3117110
4. Acknowledged.
5. Based on a site visit, the county topo is not completely accurate. The drainage area
on the plans is representative of the actual drainage area.
6. The french drain is noted to be tied into the proposed manhole, STR 102.
B. Stormwater Management Plan Comments (WPO- 2010 - 00009)
1. The depth of the biofilter mix has been changed to 2.5'.
2. The biofilter landscaping plan has been revised to include recommended species from
the Virginia Stormwater Management Handbook. The ratio of shrubs to trees is now
2:1.
3. The weir elevation is now specified on sheet C4.0.

C. Erosion & Sediment Control Plan comments (WPO- 2010 - 00009)
1. Pursuant to our meeting on 3/1/10, the biofilter is now indicated to serve as a
sediment trap during construction. Also, the offsite water is now being routed to the
existing channel, thereby maintaining the original watershed.
2. Cleanwater diversions have been removed from the plan.
3. The soil divides and types are now indicated on the E &S plans.
4. The DI -7 is now indicated to have silt fence around the inlet for inlet protection.
5. The slope drain and associated notes have been removed from the plan.
6. The construction sequence now specifies that the mobile classroom units must be
removed before the bypass storm system is installed.
7. The construction entrance is now shown graphically to be 70' long.
8. Acknowledged.
The below responses are in regards to the email dated 3117/10
9. The limits of construction has been revised as requested.
10. The clean water diversion has been removed and the sediment traps have been resized
to accommodate the additional drainage area.
11. The requested changes have been made to the construction sequence.

13. Notes regarding safety fence and warning signs for the sediment traps have been
added to Sheets C7.0 and C7.1.
VDOT — Joel Denunzio
1. General notes 1, 2 and 3 are no longer indicated as N /A.
2. The pavement marking on Sheet C3.0 has been revised:
a. All striping is now denoted as Pavement Marking Type A
b. Stop bars, arrows and pavement messages are indicated to be Pavement
Marking Type B, class IV.
c. The pavement message for STOP has been removed so that a stop sign is no
longer required.
d. The channelization between same direction traffic has been changed to white
markings instead of yellow.
e. The ingress channelization at the divider island has been widened to
accommodate a 40' school bus.
f. The stop bar and pavment message has been revised. There is now a "Yield to
Incoming Traffic" sign prior to the intersection.
The mill and overlay has been revised to meet the WP -2 standard. This detail is also
indicated on Sheet C5.0.
4. Acknowledged.
ACSA — Gary Wayland
1. A 4" G.V. has been added after the 8 "x4" tapping sleeve.
2. The sewer lateral crossing has been added to the plan and profile.
