JAUNT has the following advisory comments. .• The design of the parking lot will allow JAUNT vehicles to turnaround fairly easily. • There are no accessible parking spaces shown on the plan, and the cover page indicates that parking requirements are "undefined." JAUNT encourages the applicant to provide an adequate number of accessible parking spaces. • The sidewalk along the driveway from the building to U.S. 29 is a good feature assuming pedestrian facilities along 29 will be improved in the future. Some comments on it: • Width was unspecified but appeared to be 4', which may be uncomfortably narrow for users and wouldn't meet ADA requirements without 5' passing zones. • The grading plan shows slopes across the sidewalk. Its cross -slope should not exceed 2% in order to comply with ADA requirements. • The revised plan should show a ramp where this sidewalk ends at 29. • The County should consider whether the developer should build a short chunk of sidewalk along 29 within the project limits... this would be a "sidewalk to nowhere" right now but might connect to adjacent parcels if redeveloped. r The future pedestrian connection shown to the south is a positive element. A future road or pedestrian connection to the west could be beneficial, depending on development of the University of Virginia Research Park. Please contact me with any questions.
