RE: ARB- 2009 -105: Charlottesville First Church of the Nazarene (Tax Map 79, Parcel 8A)
Dear Pastor Willis;
The Albemarle County Architectural Review Board reviewed the above noted item at its meeting on Monday,
January 19, 2010. The Board, by a vote of 5:0 approved the request, pending staff administrative approval of
the following conditions:
1. The bronze window glass with 8% reflectance and bronze tint shall be allowed due to the anticipated limited
impact on the EC and the distance from the EC.
2. Revise the photometric plan to include a note indicating that the color of the pole lights (poles and fixtures)
is bronze.
3. Provide documentation from the power and telephone easement holders indicating that they have no
objection to the proposed planting in the easements.
4. Revise the existing conditions plan to clearly identify the existing tree line. Show tree protection fencing
along the existing tree line to remain on the E &S and grading plans.
At the meeting you provided updated Existing Site Conditions plan, Photometric plan, and Landscape plan,
which resolved some of these issues. Outstanding items for approval are as follows:
1. Provide documentation from the telephone easement holder indicating that they have no objection to the
proposed planting in the easement.
2. Show tree protection fencing along the existing tree line to remain on the E &S and grading plans. Ensure
that the tree line to remain is shown consistently throughout the plan. (The landscape plan shows a different
tree line to remain than the other sheets show.)
Please provide:
1. A copy of the correspondence from the telephone easement holder and one set of revised drawings
addressing the "tree line to remain" issue. Include updated revision dates on the drawings.
2. A memo indicating how each condition has been satisfied. If changes other than those requested have
been made, identify those changes in the memo also. Highlighting the changes in the drawing with
clouding" or by other means will facilitate review and approval,
3. The attached "Revised Application Submittal' form. This form must be returned with your revisions to
ensure proper tracking and distribution.
When staffs review of this information indicates that all conditions of approval have been met, a Certificate of
Appropriateness may be issued.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
r ,
