Narrative PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The purpose of this project is the construction of Church missions Wilding. Approximately 1.5 acres are scheduled for disturbance. EXISTING SITE CONDITIONS' The topography of the site is relatively flat within all reaches. The area landcover is partly wooded area with an existing Church building, same existing parking areas and utility structures. ADJACENT AREAS: The project area is bounded by rt. 250 to the South and by unimproved or rural properties on all other sides. SOILS: Soils in this area are generally described as Nasm Silt Miami Nason are well drained with medium to rapid rural and manuals s pernsabitily. CRITICAL MEAS. Critical areas are than (such as creek channels) subject to concentrated stormflows car subsurface springs. In topography such as this, source control of sediment is critical to erosion control. Contractor should use core In scheduling and sequencing to minimize exmvwion exposure in these areas. EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL MEASURES: Measures shown on the aaomparaying drawings and in this narrative are to be installed in accordance with the specifications and standards of the Virginia Erosion and Sedimentation Control Handbook, 3d Edition 1992. STABILIZATION PACTICES (Adapted from Stab Minimum Standards as effected, 13 SEP95). Standards listed here, are in summary form. In cases of duration or controversy, the Virginia Regulation VR 625-02-W shall govern. MSI Permanent or temporary soil stabilization shall be applied to denuded areas within seven (7) days after final grade is reached on any portion of the site. Temporary soil stabilization shall be applied to denuded areas within seven (7) days to denuded smasMat may not beat final grade. but will remain dormant for longer than 30 days. Permament stabilization shall be applied to than areas which will remain dormant for longer than one year. MS2 Soil stock piles shall be stabilized or protected with sediment trapping measures. The applicant is responsible for the temporary protection and permanent stabilization of all sail stockpiles on site as well as soil intentionally transported from the site. MS 3 A permanent vegeetive cover shall be established on denuded arses not otherwise stabilized. Permanentvegeetion shall not de considered established until a ground cover is achieved that, In the opinion of the local program administrator, or his agent, is uniform, mature enough to wrvW, and will inhibit erasion. MS4 Sediment basins and traps, perimeter dikes, sediment darien and other measures Intended to trap sediment on-site must ba constructed as a tint step in grading and be made functional before upslope land disW anm takes dam. MSS Stabilization measures shall be applied to earthen structures such a dams, dikes and diversions immediately after installation. MS$ Surface runoff from disturbed areas that is comprised at flaw from drainage areas greater than or equal to, three (3) arm, shall be controlled by a sediment basin. The sediment basin shall be designed and constructed to accommodate the anticipated sediment loading from the land disturbing activity. The outfall device or system design shall take into account the total drainage area flowing through the disturbed area fo be served by the basin. MS 7 Cut and fill slopes shall be constructed in a manner that will minimize erosion. Slopes that are found to be eroding excessively within one year of permanent stabilization, shall be provided with additional slope stabilizing measures until the problem is compound. MS Concentrated runoff shall not flow down cut or fill slopes unless contained within adequate temporary or permanent channel, flume or shape drain structure. MS 9 WMnever water seeps from a slope face, adequate drainage or other protection shall be provided, MS 10 All storm sewer inlets that are made operable during construction shall be protected so that sediment laden water cannot enter the ="yen" system without first being filtered or otherwise treated M remove sediment. MS -11 Before newly constructed stormwater conveyance chanmis are made operational, adequate outlet protection and any required temporary or permanent chancel lining shall be installed in bath the conveyance channel and receiving channel. MS 12 When work in alive watercourse is performed, precautions shall be taken no minimize enamchment, confrol sediment transport and stabilize the soak area to the greatest extent possible during construction.
