EROSION CONTROL NARRATIVE PROJECT DESCRIPTION THIS PROJECT IS LOCATED OFF MONACAN TRAIL ROAD (ROUTE 29) IN THE SAMUEL MILLER DISTRICT OF ALBEMARLE COUNTY, VIRGINIA. THE PARCEL IS ZONED RA AND HAS A PARCEL ID OF 87 -25C1. THE PARCEL WILL ACCOMMODATE A 204 SF STRUCTURE AND 10,000 GALLON HYDROPNEUMATIC TANK, ALONG WITH AN ACCESS ROAD LEADING TO THE PROPOSED BUILDING AND A SECURITY FENCE ENCLOSING THE PROPOSED STRUCTURE AND TANK. THE TOTAL PARCEL AREA IS 2.75 ACRES AND THE TOTAL ACREAGE OF LAND DISTURBANCE IS 0.43 ACRES. EXISTING SITE CONDITIONS THIS PARCEL IS CURRENTLY AN UNDEVELOPED LOT. THE LOT'S TERRAIN VARIES FROM 10% TO 20% SLOPES. IT IS HEAVILY VEGETATED ALONG THE VDOT RIGHT -OF -WAY FOR ABOUT 60 -100 FT INTO THE SITE. THE SITE DRAINS TOWARDS AN EXISTING DITCH ALONG ROUTE 29 AND IS EVENTUALLY PIPED UNDERNEATH ROUTE 29 TO THE MIDDLE BRANCH TRIBUTARY. ADJACENT AR_FAS THE ADJACENT PARCELS SURROUNDING THE SITE ARE RESIDENTIAL LOTS. THE CLOSEST HOME TO THE PROPOSED STRUCTURE IS APPROXIMATELY 900 FT. THE NEAREST INTERSECTION IS APPROXIMATE 1,900 FT (TAYLOR GAP ROAD) AND THE NEAREST UNNAMED TRIBUTARY IS APPROXIMATELY 35 FT NORTHWEST OF THE SITE. THE OUTFALL OF THE TRIBUTARY WILL BE CLEANED AS REQUESTED BY COUNTY OFFICIALS. DIVERSION DIKES AND SILT FENCING WILL BE USED TO PREVENT SEDIMENT FROM REACHING THE STREAM. OFF -SITE AREAS THERE WILL BE NO OFF -SITE LAND DISTURBANCE. S S.: CULLEN LOAM SOIL (19C) IS THE ONLY SOIL TYPE PRESENT WITHIN THE ENTIRE SITE. THIS SOIL CLASSIFICATION IS DESCRIBED AS DEEP, STRONGLY SLOPING, AND WELL DRAINED. TYPICALLY, THE SURFACE LAYER OF THIS SOIL IS REDDISH BROWN LOAM ABOUT 8- INCHES THICK. THE SUBSOIL IS MOSTLY RED OR DARK RED CLAY LOAM ABOUT 52- INCHES THICK. THE SUBSTRATUM TO A DEPTH OF 67- INCHES IS MOSTLY RED, YELLOWISH RED, AND YELLOWISH BROWN LOAM. PERMEABILITY AND AVAILABLE WATER CAPACITY ARE MODERATE. SURFACE RUNOFF IS RAPID. THE HAZARD OF EROSION IS SEVERE. THIS SOIL HAS GOOD TILTH. THE SUBSOIL HAS MODERATE SHRINK -SWELL POTENTIAL. THE ORGANIC MATTER CONTENT IS LOW TO MODERATE, AND THE NATURAL FERTILITY IS MEDIUM. THIS SOIL IS COMMONLY MEDIUM ACID TO STRONGLY ACID THROUGHOUT, BUT REACTION IN THE SURFACE LAYER IS VARIABLE BECAUSE OF LOCAL LIMING. BEDROCK IS GENERALLY AT A DEPTH OF MORE THAN 5 FEET.
