Dear Mr. Graham,
NIITEK develops and builds explosive hazard (Landmines and Improvised Explosive Devices) detection
systems. These systems are currently supporting our troops in theater with great success. As you know,
our soldiers abroad are killed each week by landmines or IEDs. It is our mission to minimize this hazard
to the greatest extent possible.
We have also deployed our systems to ex -war zones such as Angola, Somalia, and Cambodia to
facilitate humanitarian de- mining activities. Sources indicate that there are over 127 million landmines
buried in 55 countries worldwide that endanger the lives of millions of innocent civilians.
Our systems are designed to do one thing and that is to Save Lives. Our systems and people do this
very well.
The US Government has awarded NIITEK a contract to produce our systems for deployment in large
quantities and, because of the urgency to protect our troops, they require us to ramp up production
very quickly. Their requirements have NIITEK increasing our manufacturing throughput by a factor of six
within the next several months. In order to achieve this, our need for additional space in our production
facility will almost double by May 2009. Failure to perform will result in the Government placing this
work (they technically own the design package) in other facilities with available capacity. This, of course,
would come at the cost of dozens of manufacturing jobs that this area desperately needs.
We are working with Montibello Properties and Al Carver (Segars Engineering) on the expansion plans.
Any help that your office can provide to expedite the review process will be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Christopher J. Reilly
Director of Manufacturing Operations
