The wall sign that is proposed is actually just the "2335" address numbers to be located over the main entrance. Normally, we wouldn't review address numbers, but these exceed the size allowable for exemptions. The color of the numbers is proposed as a dark teal, the letters aren't illuminated, and the sign is located between two piers, which may actually limit visibility somewhat from the EC. During the ARB review of the plan/architecture changes, the applicant indicated that the only other possible wall sign for this building would be for the restaurant. We don't have a submittal for that yet. Also, they have plans for renovating the other building in the center sometime in the future. Changes to the comp sign plan may be proposed at that time. Although the "2335" sign doesn't meet the comp sign criteria, I'd like to approve it based on the anticipated limited visual impact. The teal color is used in the freestanding sign refacing, which we can approve at staff level, and in the directional signs (which we don't typically review). So there will be a level of coordination across the site. Are you OK with us approving the address numbers even though they aren't white? Thanks for your help. Margaret Margaret M.
