We are seeking approval from the County Department of Community Development to erect Awnings over the front entrances on each building. The proposed awnings are drawn on the enclosed Plans and would be attached to the Front Exterior Entrances. They would cover the respective walk ways up to the side walk that runs in front of the buildings, between a grassy area and the parking area. New free standing wrought iron hand railing on either side of the walk way, also shown, will also be installed as they are necessary to maintain the safety and well being of our residents. The first Plan, #96 -110 (Sargent House) identified in writing in red ink on the Plan, was approved February 4, 1997. The second Plan #98 -103 (Holtrust Addition), also identified in writing in red ink on Page 5 of 15 shows the Holtrust Addition only. Page 2 of 15 of the same Plan 98 -103 shows the Holtrust Addition and the (then) existing Sargent House side by side and as they now stand. Plan #98 -103 was approved on June 18, 1998. Proposed plans for the awnings are drawn on this page Page 2 of 15 of Plan #98 -103_ Both of the walk ways from the Sargent House and The Holtrust to the side walk become icy in winter and it is anticipated that the awning will help to eliminate this pervasive safety hazard as well as enhance the design of the buildings. This project would be executed by Eagle Window Home Improvement Company, a well respected organization located in Charlottesville. Thank you for your consideration.
