Reviews Comments:Email to applicant 3/15/16: The approved sign criteria documents for Stonefield are attached. Note
that orange is not an approved letter color and illumination of individual letters is limited to external or
halo lighting. Signs meeting the criteria can be approved administratively. I can’t approve the sign as
proposed and I anticipate that the ARB would not approve it either. I recommend revising the
proposal to meet the criteria. You are welcome to email me revised drawings. Please let me know
within 15 days how you’d like to proceed. Also, please note that the Noodles sign was approved with
a small amount of yellow as an accent color. The orange in the Mezeh sign is not being used that
way.

Reviews Comments:1. The overall sign height (2') appears to be too tall. Stonefield’s sign criteria require 8” of clearance
to architectural features. It looks like the “h” will extend all the way up to the level of the material
change, resulting in the sign looking “smashed” between the trellis and the siding. In the approved
drawings, it actually looks like there is less than 2’ of available space. A possible option is moving the
“Mediterranean Grill” letters to the side of “Mezeh” for a longer sign with less height and more vertical
clearance.
2. Do the returns match the grey color of the face?
3. Are the “Mediterranean Grill” letter to be illuminated?
