To the County Engineer:
Agenus is an immuno-oncology company developing checkpoint modulator antibodies and cancer
vaccines. Agenus will open a 3,026 square foot laboratory at the Emerging Technologies Center of the
UVA Research Park complex in Charlottesville. Agenus will employ 3-5 employees, primarily scientists,
to analyze and characterize peptides and proteins.
We have addressed the performance standards of Zoning Ordinance Section 18-4.14:
Noise: Our operation will not create sound or impact noise levels in excess of the values as
specified in Section 4.14.1.
Vibration: Our equipment will produce no vibration detectable at or beyond the property
boundary lines.
Glare: Our operation is completely contained within the building. The interior fighting associated
with this operation does not produce glare that Is visible beyond the lot line.
Air Pollution: There will be no emission of smoke, odor or gaseous pollutants.
Water Pollution: No liquid wastes will be generated by this operation. Our operation does not
represent a hazard to water quality.
Radioactivity: Our operation does not require handling of radioactive materials. There will be no
radioactive emissions.
Electrical Interference: Our operation does not require any equipment that would generate
electrical disturbances.
