Subject: RE: 90 Stockton Ridge Lane, Crozet, Zone A FEMA floodplain, hog shed
Dave,
I spoke with Siri Russell, yesterday.
Siri was kind to remind I needed to close this project. i have overlooked what is in this case a strictly administrative yet
important step.
On behalf of owner, please complete and return a Floodplain Development Permit Application for the hog shed (link to
Application, below). There is no fee. The hog shed is uninhabitable /uninsurable under NFIP guidelines. There is no fill
associated with the structure. A `No Rise' PE -seal Certification is not required. I misspoke when I explained to Siri that
with structural information provided in email below, we were finished. It is important for consistency and FEMA audit
purposes that Albemarle County maintain FDP Applications for any (all is preferable) development within mapped
floodplain, even when development has no impact to mapped floodplain limits and no effect on base flood
elevation. (Development is defined by NFIP as any man-made change.) —Ref. 18-30.3.12.A.
FDP Applications for even simple projects may help assure FEMA that Albemarle County is exercising due caution and
statutory control if FEMA sees records that match activity within mapped floodplain.
You've been patient and helpful. Please use link, print FDP Application, and-

Mr. Wyant,
It was a pleasure to meet and speak with you last Thursday.
Please send photos if available and any As -built information for floodplain structure (TMP# 70-15F) directly to
me —no need to go through Zoning.
Depth of (hog shed) building piles /anchoring /concrete embedment is of particular interest. You are kind to
help with this, and we appreciate it.
