HomeMy WebLinkAboutSP197300266 Action Letter 1973-06-21 6-21-73 186 Jail Physiciar. was submitted for the month of May 1973 in the amount of $63 00 of which two-thirds i.s reimbursable by the State On motion by Mr Carwile seconded by i' LJ 141' Henley tt.ese statements were approved for payment by the following recorded vote AYES Mess:~s Carwile Fisher Henley Thacl<.er and Wheeler NAYS None ABSENT 141' ~ood Mr Wh'~e]er requested that copies of agreements with adjoining Counties relating to II use of the .lltemarle County Jail be sent to each board member J Report of the County Executive for the month of May 1973 was received as informa- tion Report,; of the Departme~t of Public Welfare were submitted for the month of April 1973 in accordance with Sections 63-67 1 and 63 67 2 .of the Code of Virginia 141' Whneler said that in meeting with the Planning Commission concerning a request for a moratorium they had stated they would need additional legal help and had made such a requnst to this board He said he felt all legal matters should be referred to the offic:e of the County Attorney and that this should be made a policy of the Board of SUjlervisors Motion was offered by Mr Henley seconded by 141' Carwile to inform all Iloards and commissions appointed by the Board of Supervisors that all matters requiring l"gal assistance are to be referred to the County Attorney Motion carried I by the following recorded vote AYES Messrs Carwile Fisher Henley Thacker and Wheeler NAYS None ABSENT Mr Wood Mr Wh"eler said the Board had discussed the legal work required in working on the new zoning ordinance with Mr St John and he does not feel this falls within the regular assi.gnnents of the County Attorney He said that the rate for this work would be $35 00 ar hour or possibly a total of $4 600 in order to accomplish the work of the Planning Conmission within a 60 to 90 day period 141' Fisher said that the Board needs to expedite the work on the new zoning ordinance and he offered motion to approve $4 600 00 fer the drafting and rewriting of the new zoning ordinance and also to authorize 141' 3eorge R St Johh to perform this work for the Planning Commission (Appropriation for this will be made at a later date) Motion was seconded by Mr D Carwile and carried by the following recorded vote AYES Messr's Carwile Fisher Henley Thacker and Wheeler NAYS None ABSENT 141' Wood Motion was offered by Mr Carwile seconded by Mr Thacker to adopt the following J ordinance
