Dear Ms. Satemye:
The Department of Transportation, Charlottesville Residency Transportation and Land Use
Section, has reviewed the above referenced plan as submitted by Shimp Engineering, dated June
I4, 2016 and offers the following comments:
Land Use
1. Please provide plan and profile to ensure there is adequate sight distance at the proposed
entrance.
2. Please conform to the pavement widening WP-2, 302_02 in the 2008 Road and Bridge
standards. Please show on plans mill and overlay.
3. Please show that the entrance location is in conformance with (appendix F., pg. F-126) in
that 50'ft., of spacing from adjacent entrances and appropriate offset or alignment with
entrances on the opposite side of the street.
4. On sheet C4 please show that the proposed storm water runoff is adequate for tying into
the existing 24" RCP, that's within the 50' ft., right of way of Stoney Ridge Road.
5. Please label right of way to all plan sheets.
6. On sheet C5 landscaping plan, please relocate proposed trees off of existing 24" RCP.
Please note that the final site plan must show conformance with the VDOT Road Design
Manual Appendices B (1) and F, as well as any other applicable standards, regulations, or
other requirements.
Please provide two copies of the revised plan along with a comment response letter. If further

A VDOT Land Use Permit will be required prior to any work within the right-of-way. The
owner/developer must contact the VDOT Charlottesville Residency Land Use Section at (434)
422-9399 for information pertaining to this process
