An adjourned meeting of the Board of Supervisors of Albemarle County,
Virginia, was held on April 10, 1978, at 4:30 P.M. at the Holiday Inn
South, Charlottesville, Virginia; said meeting being adjourned from
April 5, 1978.
Present: Messrs. Lindsay G. Dorrier, Jr. (Arriving at t:15 P.M.),
Gerald E. Fisher, J. T. Henley, Jr., F. Anthony Iachetta, C. Timothy
Lindstrom and W. S. Roudabush.
Absent: None.
Officers present: County Executive, Guy B. Agnor, Jr. and County
Attorney, George R. St. John.
Agenda Item No. 1. The meeting was called to order at 5:02
P.M. by the Chairman, Mr. Fisher. Also pres~.nt were members of the
Albemarle?..~ountySchool Board: Peter Way, Ronald Bauer!e, Jessie Haden,
Dean Strong, Charles Maupin and James Walker and School Superintendent,
Clarence McClure and School Board Clerk, Thomas Hurlbmrt. Mr. Fisher
said this meeting was requested by Mr. Lindstrom during work sessions
on~b~he budget. He personally hopes it will be just the first in a
series of such sessions so the two bodies can discuss mutual problems.
Topics discussed were: zero base budgeting and the overall budget
process and many items related to evaluation of teachers and teacher
salaries.
Mr. Lindstrom said he hoped that at the next meeting of this
group there would be an agenda containing two topics of discussion
so the members would be better prepared. Mr. Roudabush felt the
School Board should be considering the future physical needs of
the School system so the Board will be able to anticipate funding
for same.
Mr. Fisher said he and Mr. Way would schedule another meeting
of these two bodies in the near future.~
At 6:30 P.M., the meeting was adjourned.
