Miller RE: ARB-2003-96, Forest Lakes Terrace, TM 46B4-Parcel 10 Dear Ms. Miller, I would like to request a change in the landscaping requirements. Can we discontinue the use of all Pachysandra terminalis and plant Liriope Muscari instead? This request is based on the attached letter. We have further been advised that the heat reflection from the blacktop/concrete area would support that we make this change. Brugh Montebello Property& Investment Co. 235 Terrell Road West Charlottesville,VA 22901 Dear Mr. Brugh: We have discussed on several occasions the plants specified for the property currently under construction at Forest Lakes Terrace, The main concern we have expressed, centers on the use of Pachysandra terminalis in the two beds immediately adjacent to the main entrance of the building. As you know, Pachysandra terminalis prefers shade, and moist, slightly, acidic soils. The beds in question will receive virtually full sun, and in my opinion would be more aesthetically pleasing with a different plant, A reliable, attractive, plant that will work in the two beds is Liriope muscari, "Big Blue". Liriope muscari grows well in shade or sun, and often forms thick mats of arching straplike leaves. It is being utilized in other areas of the landscape, and would thus, be in keeping with the overall landscape plan. If I may be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me. ctfully, Vickie a 'cc Sales Representative JUN 2 4 2004 Box 987 • Waynesboro,VA 22980 Ph: (540)946.3800 • Toll free; 1-800.8688676 • FAX: (540)946.3814 • www.waynesboronurseries,com
