RE: ARB-2017-24 and ARB-2017-29: City Electric Supply Signs
Dear Callie,
I have reviewed the above -noted sign applications. The following revisions are requested to make the
proposal consistent with the Entrance Corridor Sign Guidelines.
For the freestanding _signn:
1. The approved shade of red for tenant panels in the freestanding sign is Pantone 186C. The
approved blue colors are Pantone 301C and Pantone 280c. Please revise the drawing to show
color identifications that are consistent with these approved colors.
For the wall sign;
2. Indicate on the drawing a Pantone number for the blue color.
3. Although the sign is centered over an entrance, it appears unbalanced because the C-E-S letters
and flagscape are much heavier in appearance than the tagline. An alternate arrangement is
required.
4. The top of the C letter appears too close to the "cornice" of the building. Additional clear space is
needed to avoid an over -crowded appearance.
5. This proposal is the second wall sign for this building. As a multi -tenant building, a
comprehensive sign plan is required and should be submitted at this time for review. Note that
Comprehensive Sign Plans require coordination in sign type, size, placement, illumination, and
color across the building, and only the color and illumination of the proposed sign are consistent
with the existing ABC sign. Comprehensive Sign Plans require action by the Architectural
Review Board. A sample Comprehensive Sign Plan is attached.
6. The $129 Entrance Corridor sign fee was not paid. Please submit payment so that review of your
application may continue.
Please respond by email within 15 days of the date of this letter indicating whether you will or will not
proceed with these revisions. Your decision to make the revisions will suspend the 60-day review period
associated with your original submittal. If you choose to complete the revisions, please email the revised
drawings to me. If you choose not to proceed with these revisions, staff will be unable to approve your
application. Failure to respond to this letter shall be presumed to be a request to proceed to action on the
application without further revisions.

We have found that there are three wall signs insta lied at this site {photos belci Possibly only one has an approved permit. Our Code Compliance staff is looking into the situation, and will likely be contacting the property owner to facilitate resolution of the problem. As we've discussed previously, there are
some outstanding items that need to he addressed for the City Electric Supply signs.
