Site
The site development plan currently
shows access entirely on the new
property from US 250 to a few parking
spaces for visitors and the majority of
the 25 spaces relegated to the rear
(south side of the structure). These
spaces will serve the administrative
staff, field engineers who use com-
pany provided pick up trucks and
visitors to the new office building. On
occasion, (perhaps once every two or
three months) a tractor trailer delivery
will need to maneuver to the rear por-
tion of the laboratory building. An ex-
tension of the entrance drive is shown
to accommodate this function.
Building
We have divided the project into two
similar building volumes in order to
break down the scale of the project
similar to buildings along the road in
this area. Each of the two proposed
buildings sections uses a simple single
slope agricultural building form similar
to barns found in the area. The fa-
cades facing the entrance corridor
further break down the scale by using
a combination of clerestory windows,
brick veneer and siding, all elements
commonly found in the agricultural
landscape of western Albemarle
County. The horizontal watertable
at the base of the clerestory windows
is carried around the majority of the
perimeter of the building to reinforce
the human scale of the building. This
will balance the length of the building
which relates to the highway charac-
ter of this section of the road.

INTENDED USE

CONSTRUCTION
Sturdy weather -resistant aluminum housing with a bronze finish, standard unless otherwise noted. A
clear polycarbonate lens protects the optics from moisture, dirt and other contaminants.

FEATURES & SPECIFICATIONS
INTENDED USE —The OLCFM provides years of maintenance -free general illumination for residential
and commercial outdoor applications such as porches, covered walkways and store entrances.
CONSTRUCTION — Rugged cast -aluminum top -plate and outer -ring are protected by a thermoset
powder coat finish that provides superior resistance to corrosion and weathering. A tightly controlled
multi -stage process ensures a minimum 3 mils thickness fora finish thatt an withstand extreme climate
changes without cracking or peeling.
Polycarbonate LED lens/cover protects LEDs.
Fixture weight = 2.98 lbs.
OPTICS— 96 high-performance LEDs produces up to 1077 lumens and maintain 70% oflightoutput
at 50,000 hours of service.
(LED lifespan based on IESNA LM -80-08 results and calculated per IESNA TM -21-11 methodology.)
White acrylic diffuser provides a soft white light at 4000K CCT
