Chiefs,
Based on recent discussions during the Advisory Board's strategic planning sessions,
the Board of Supervisors has scheduled a work session and is requesting that the Fire Rescue
Advisory Board attend on October 22 at 7:00 p.m. in the Lane Auditorium at the County Office
Building on Mcintire Road. We hope that you can take time out of your monthly meeting to join
us in this timely discussion. The purpose of the meeting is to seek a better understanding of how
other localities have formally structured by policy and code the organization of their combination
fire rescue systems.
We have invited several representatives from like-sized jurisdictions to make a short
presentation to highlight and inform the Board members about their fire rescue systems and
corresponding organizational structures. We have set aside time for a question and answer
period for the Board and Advisory Board, and we look forward to your participation in that
discussion. We anticipate that the session will result in the Board providing guidance for the
County's system that can help the strategic planning process move forward in a positive and
productive direction.
A formal agenda will be forthcoming.
Thanks in advance for, your work, and we look forward to seeing you at our work session
on October 22nd.
Sincerely,
~L.~
Kenneth C. Boyd, Chairman
