A MR. MAYFIELD AND A MR. BING PRESENT~PETITION TO THC BOARD REQUESTING MAINTENANCE OF
ROADS IN AIRPORT ACRES SUBDIVISION. THE PETITIONERS WERE ADVISED~ AS A NUMBER OF PETITIONERS
IN THE PAST HA~E BEEN ADVtSED~ THAT THE ROADS IN THIS SUBDIVISION DO NOT MEET STATE STANDARDS
AND SPECIFICATIONS AND THAT UNTIL THEY ARE BUILT TO MEET THESE SPECIFICATIONS THEY CANNOT BE
ACCEPTED FOR MAINTENANCE. IT WAS FURTHER SUGGESTED THAT THE INTERESTED LANDOWNERS INVESTI-
GATE THE POSSIBILITY OF HAVING THE ROADS BROUGHT UP TO STATE STANDARDS OR ATTEMPT TO HAVE THE
LEGISLATURE CHANGE ITS PRESENT LAWS TO PERMIT RELIEF TO SUBDIVISION LAND OWNERS WHO FIND THEM-
SELVES tN THIS SITUATION. T~E PETITION SUBMITTED WAS REFERRED TO THE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT FOR

FROM AMERICAN TELEPHONE AND TELEGRAPH COMPANY AND THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION WAS UNANIMOUSLY
ADOPTED:
WHEREAS, COMMUNICATION HAS BEEN RECEIVED FROM AMERICAN TELEPHONE AND
TELEGRAPH COMPANY REQUESTING IMPROVEMENT OF A SECTION OF ROUTE 640; AND
WHEREAS, IT IS THE OPINION OF THIS BOARD THAT THE AFOREMENTIONED RE-
QUEST MERITS FAVORABLE CONSIDERATION;
NOW~ THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED eY THE BOARD OF COUNTY SUPERVISORS OF
ALBEMARLE COUNTY, VIRGINIA, THAT THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS BE AND
IS HEREBY REQUESTED TO ALLOCATE INDUSTRIAL ACCESS FUNDS FOR THE IMMEDIATE
IMPROVEMENT OF 1.5 MILES OF ROUTE 640 BETWEEN ROUTE 231 aND THE ACCESS ROAD
OF AMERICAN TELEPSONE AND TELEGRAPH COMPANY. FOR INFORMATIVE PURPOSES~ COPY

RESOLUTION.
THE BOARDIS ATTENTION WAS CALLED TO THE FACT THAT IT IS FELT THAT MR. 0HARLIE REA 18
AGAIN VIOLATING THE COUNTYIS AUTOMOBILE CRAVEYARD ORDINANCE. THE COUNTY EXECUTIVE WAS RE-
QUESTED TO INVESTIGATE THIS MATTER.
