To County Engineer:
We are a small drug discovery biotech, developing peptide analogs with drug discovery applications. We
synthesized amino acid derivative and small peptide that we shipped to collaborators or clients for
biological testing. We have a total of 3 employees: two PhD s chemists working at the facility and one
only focusing on business development.
We have addressed the performance standards of zoning ordinance section 18-4.14:
Noise: our daily operation won't create any loud sounds or noises; the major source of noise will be due
to the blower from our fume hood and it will stay much below the value specified in Section 4.14.1.
Vibration: we don't operate any machine or equipment generating vibrations.
Glare: our operation will only occur inside our building and won't produce and glare.
Air pollution: Our operation won't release any smoke, odor or other air pollution, when organic solvent
need to be handle the will be inside a fume hood equipped with the appropriate charcoal filter to trap
any potential contaminant. The filters will be replaced regularly and disposed through a specialized
contractor.
Water pollution: Organic wastes and contaminated aqueous solutions will be collected stores following
Osha standard and remove by a specialized contractor (Veolia). Our operation does not represent a
hazard to water quality.
Radioactivity: no radioactive material will be used for our operation.
Electrical interference: Our operation does not require any equipment that would generate any
electrical disturbance.
