REPORT WAS RECEIVED FROM THE PLANNING COMMISSION ON CHANGES NECESSARY IN SUBDIVISION ORDINANCE
AND COUNTY POLICY CONCERNING ACCEPTANCE OF ROADS INTO THE SECONDARY SYSTEM. THE REPORT SET FORTH THE
FOLLOWING RECOMMENDATION:
"IT Is RECOMMENDED THAT THE BOARD GIVE CONSIDERATION TO ITS PRESENT POLICY OF RECOM-
MENDING ACCEPTANCE OF SUBDIVISION STREETS TO THE END THAT MINIMUM STANDARDS MAY BE
SET. THE FOLLOWING ARE SEVERAL SUGGESTIONS THAT MAY BE SET FORTH:
STREETS TO BE BUILT UP-AT LEAST 50~.
Bo A TRAFFIC COUNT BE MAINTAINED OF AT LEAST A CERTAIN NUMBER OF VEHICLES PER DAY
FOR A DESIGNATED DISTANCE~ COST OF SUCH COUN~TO BE BORNE BY THE DEVELOPER.
C, STREETS CONNECTING SUBDIVISIONS OR OTHER DEVELOPMENT SHOULD BE GIVEN ADDED
WEIGHT IN ADDITION TO OTHER CONSIDERATIONS.
D.EACH STREET BE CONSIDERED ON ITS PARTICULAR USAGE IN A MANNER THAT THE PUBLIC
USE BE PROTECTED.
Eo THAT DEVELOPMENTS BE ENCOURAGED BY SECTIONS TO AVOID HAVING LARGE SUBDIVISIONS
WITH SPARSELY DEVELOPED LOTS AND LmTTLE USED STREETS;

AND IT WAB RECOMMENDED THAT ALL STREETS RECOMMENDED FOR ACCEPTANCE BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION FOLLOW THE
GENERAL POLICY WITH CONSIDERATION BEING GIVEN ON ITS OWN MERIT.

LAYOUT~ IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT THE EXISTING ORDINANCE NOT BE CHANGED AT THE PRESENT TIME; IT WAS SUG-
GESTED BY THE COMMITTEE THAT PERIODIC REVIEW BE GIVEN TO THE ORDINANCE IN AN EFFORT TO PROVIDE E~UITABLB

CATED IN JUNE~ 19(30 BEFORE THE MORE RESTRICTIVE REGULATIONS WERE APPLIED, J HAVE
INSTALLED CONCRETE GUTTERS ON BOTH SIDES OF THE R/W AS REQUIRED AND GRADED THE
ADdOINING LAND SO THAT EASY ACCESS WILL BE AVAILABLE TO ALL LOTS.
NO FURTHER REQUEST ON MY PART WILL BE MADE BEYOND THIS POINT AND ANY FUTURE R/W
THAT I CONTROL OR OWN BETWEEN THIS POINT AND NORTHFIELD WILL BE CONSIDERED NEW
BUSINESS AND WILL COME UNDER STRICT CONFORMANCE WITH ALL SUBDIVISIONS REGULATIONS
AS THEY MAY APPLY.
IT IS ONLY BECAUSE OF THE NATURE OF THIS-~INHERITED ~ITUATION, ~HICH HAS BECOME A
VICTIM OF THE TRANSITION PERIOD TO MORE RESTRICTIVE REGULATIONS THAT ~ MAKE THIS
REQUEST. IT IS MY PRESENT POLICY TO MAKE THE STANDARDS OF DEVELOPMENT FOR ALL
NEW STREETS AS HIGH AS ECONOMICALLY PRACTICAL, WHICH AT PRESENT EXCEEDS THE SUB-
