BE ABLE TO COMPLETE THE CONTRACT PRIOR TO AUGUST.

INSTALLATION OF CEMENT-ASBESTOS PIPE.
ON MOTION OF MR. PALMER, SECONDED BY MR. GARNETT, AND UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED BY SHOW
OF HANDS~ THE BIDS RECOMMENDED BY MR. WILLIAM C. OVERMAN WERE ACCEPTED AND THE COUNTY
EXECUTIVE WAS AUTHORIZED TO EXECUTE CONTRACTS IN CONNECTION WITH~SAME.
ON MOTION OF MR. YANCEY, SECONDED BY ~R. THRAVES, RULES WITH REGARD TO SECOND
READING WERE SUSPENDED AND THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED BY RECORDED VOTE:
' BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY SUPERVISORS OF ALBEMARLE
COUNTY~ VIRGINIA, THAT $100,000.00 BE AND THE SAME IS HEREBY APPRO-
PRIATED FROM GENERAL OPERATING FUND SURPLUS TO THE ALBEMARLE COUNTY
SERVICE AUTHORITY ON A TEMPORARY LOAN BASIS.
ON MOTION OF MR. PALMERs, SECONDED BY MR. YANCEY, MR., 0TIS L. BROWN, ASSISTANT
OOUNTY EXECUTIVE, WAS APPOINTED AS THIS BOARDIS REPRESENTATIVE TO DEAL WITH CONTRACTORS
ON THE FOREGOING MATTERS.
ON MOTION OF MR. GARNETT, SECONDED BY MR. YANcEy, THE MATTER WITH REGARD TO THE
ADOPTION OF A CONTRACTORIS LICENSE TAX ORDINANCE WAS CARRIED OVER TO THE REGULAR MAY
MEETING.
SEVERAL PERSONS APPEARED IN SUPPORT OF THE BUDGET REQUEST OF THE MCINTIRE PUBLIC
LIBRARY, INCLUDING MR. JASON EOKFORD, MR. ROY POWELL, MR. ROY PATTERSON, MRS. MARY F.
CASH, MR. RAY WILLIAMS, MRS. HELEN MIL~US~ AND MR. EDWARD DEETS. RESOLUTIONS REQUESTING
THE BOARD TO APPROVE THE TOTAL MCINTIRE LIBRARY BUDGET WERE RECEIVED FROM THE LIONS CLUB
OF CRO~ET AND THE CROZET LIBRARY COMMITTEE. THIS MATTER WAS GIVEN CONSIDERABLE DISCUSSION
BUT NO ACTION WAS TAKEN.
CLAIMS AGAINST THE COUNTY AMOUNTING TO ~339,603.88 WERE PRESENTED, EXAMINED, AND
ALLOWED AND CERTIFIED TO THE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE FOR PAYMENT AND CHARGED AGAINST THE
FOLLOWING FUNDS:
