Pursuant to the following waiver, members of the Board of County Supervisors of Albemarle
County, Virginia, met in special session on this date in the County Offi~Blag, Charlottesville,
VirgMuia, at ~:30 P.M. with the following present: Messrs. John W. Williams, Edgar N. Garnett, H. Ashby
Harris, N. Y. Sutherland, Jr., and Robert Thraves. Absent: Mr. Edward L. Smith.
We, the undersigned, members of the Board of County Supervisors of Albemarle County~
Virginia, hereby waive notice and special service thereof, of a meeting to be held
at 1:30 P.M. on the tenth day of March, 1958, in the County Office Building, Char-
lottesville, Virginia, for the purpose of considering an Ordinance Amending and
enacting Regulations Governing the Subdivision of Land Within the Corporate Limits
and Within Three Niles of the City of Charlottesville, and we do hereby consent to
the transaction of any and all business and the taking of such action at said meet-
ing upon the matter hereinahove mentioned as may be lawful, incident and necessary
thereto~

Communication from the City of Charlottesville, enclosing an Ordinance Amending and Reenacting
Reg~alations Governing the Subdivision of Land Within the Corporate Limits a~d~[Within Three Niles of the
City of Charlcttesvil!e, was presented. Report from special committee of the Board appointed in this
instance w~s received, and after consideration and study, certain recommendations were made. On motion~
duly made and seconded, it was unanimously~ESOLVED that said regulations be approved with the following
amendments:~
Page 6, Subsection (d) be amended to read as follows:

Page 8, Section B, Sub~ection (1) be amended to read as follows:
The right-of-way of all streets shall be graded to their full width with side slopes
and fills outside the right~of~wayo Surfacing consisting of crushed stone or gravel
shall be installed to a width of ~ (20) feet and to a depth of six (6) inches
a~ter compaction, ~ to~p~oval of the State Hi-h~a~De-~a_~tm_~ Curh~ gutters,
and sidewalks are not required.
Page 8, Section B, Subsection (2) be amended to read as follows:
All necessary drainage facilities including ~nderground pipe, inlets, catch b~sins
or open ditches to provide for the adequate disposal of surface water and to maintain
any natural drainage course shall be.installed in conformance with standards and
subject to the approval of the State Highway Department° .This Ordinance shall not

AND BE IT Fb~THER RESOLVED that a copy of~ the foregoing be transmitted to the City

The Airport Commission reviewed with the City Council and the Board of County Supervisors,
assembled in joint session,~ the bids received on ~arch 7, 1958, for Lmprovements to the Charlottesvi!!e~
Albemarle Joint Airport consisting of additional taxiways, enlarged apron, lightirgetc~, and presented
th~ bid of Nidway Electric Company, Charlottesvi!le~ Virginia, electrical contractors~ in the ~mo~ut of
$6,853J5 and the bid of ~oore Bros~,'Verona, Virginia, grading and paving contractors, in the amount of
~95,195~10, az the lowest and best bids received, and thereupon recommended that such bids be approved
and that contracts be awarded to those firm~ on the basis of such bids~ subject to Civil Aeronautics Ad~
mnms~ratmon approval.
After a full discussion of the report, upon motion of Nr. Harris, seconded by ~r. Thraves, it
was unanimously RESOLVED that such bids be and they are hereby approved as the lowest h~d best bids re~
