Pursuant to the following waiver, members of the Board of Comuty Supervisors of Albemarle
Co'unty, Virginia, met in special session on this date in the County Office Building~ Charlottesville,
Virginia, at 4:00 P.No with the following present: Messrs. Jo~m W. Williams, Edgar N. Garnett, H. Ashby
¥~rris, Edward L. Smith, No Ye Sutherland, Jr.and Robert Thraves. Absent: None.
We, the undersigned, members of the Board of County Supervisors of Albemarle County,
Virginia, do hereby waive notice and spec~l service thereof, of a meeting to be
held at 4:00 P.Mo on the seventh day of July, 19~, in the County Office Building,
Charlottesville, Virginia, for the pn~.pose of receiving committee report with regarA
to confinement and care of dogs, and we do hereby consent to any and all business and
the t~king of such action at said meeting upon the matter~ hereinabove mentioned as
may be lawful, incident and necessary thereto.

OfficSrs present: County Executive and Commonwealth's Attorney.
Mr. Thraves reported that his com~i22ee met prior to this meeting with a similar committee
from the City Council, and it was the joint recommendation that the Commonwealth's Attorney and the
City Attorney prepare<;a contract to be submitted to the S.P.C.A. for the confinement and care of city
and county dogs the most economical way possible. It was the e%~pressed feeling of the Board that the
rate of $0.5.5 per day be submitted to the SPCA for its consideration. On motion of ~r. Thraves, seconde
by Mr. Sutherland, the recemmendation of the committee was accepted and the matter referred to the Com-
monwealth ~ s a ~to. ney.
