Pursuant to the following waiver, members of the Board of County Supervisors of Albemarle
County, Virginia~ met in special session on this date,in the County Off~ce Building, Charlottesville,
Virginia, at 1;O0 P.M. with the following present: Messrs. John W. Williams, Edgar N. Garnett~ H. Ashby
Harris, Edward L. Smith, M. Y. Eutherls~ud, Jr. and Robert Thraves. Abseni: None~
We, the ~udersigned, members of the Board of County Supervisors of Albemarle
Virginia~ do hereby waive notice and special service thereof, of a meeting 'to .be
held at l:O0 P.M~, on the 'second day of November., 1959, in the County ~Office Building,
Charlottesville, Virginia, for the purpose of considering the Beaver Creek Dam and
also for the purpose of considering site for the West End School, and we do hereby
con~ent to any and all business and the taking of such action at said meeting upon
the mztters hereinabove mentioned as may Be lawful, inciden~ and necessary thereto~

Mr. Jo~es of the Soil Conservation Service appeared and presented certain technical data with
regard to the construction of the proposed Beaver Creek Dam° Considerable discussion was given to this
matter. After consideration, and upon recommendation of the Board's committe~ in this matter, the matte~
was referred back 'to the committee pending further study of the County's financial condition.
Mr. Walker Williams and Mr. O. R. Randolph appeared before the Board and advised of the in-
ability to negotiate for certain land adjacent to the Terry School, which was viewed by this Board along
with the School Board on October 23, 1959. The School Board advised that it was imperative that a site
for the West End Elementary School be selected promptly and recommended that the said s~chool be con-
structed on the present property owned by the School, this recommendation having the ?~uanimous backing
of said Board° After considerable discussion of the matter, motion was offered by Mr~ Thraves, seconded
by Mr. Smith, and unanimously carried, that the recommendation of the School Board to construct the West
End Elementary School on the property presently owned by the School Board, be approved~
On motion, the meeting adjourned.
