HomeMy WebLinkAbout1959-12-30SPECIALDecember 30, 1959 Pursuant to the following waiver, members of the Board of County Supervisors of Albemarle County, Virginia, met in special session on this date in the County Office Building, Charlottesville, Virginia, at lO:O0 A.N. with the following present: Nessrs. Edward L. Smith, N. Y. Sutherland~ Robert Thrave~ and John W. Williams.- Absent: Nessrso Edgar N. Garnett and H~ Ashby Harris. We~ the ~udersigned, members of the Board of County Supervisors of Albemarle County, Virginia, do hereby waive notice and special service thereof, of a meeting to be held at lO:00 A.Ne on the thirtieth day of December, 1959, in the County Office Building~ Charlottesville, Virginia, for the purpose of considering matters relating to schools, and we do hereby consent to any and all business and the taking of such action at said meeting upon the matter hereinabove mentioned as may be lawful, inci- dent and necessary thereto. ~y~ ~_~/ ~ H. The Chairman explained that the purpose of the meeting was to consider the matter of making available funds for the purpose of initiating the Ivy and Shadwell school projects. He stated that the Board had approved the projects and that funds must be made available for the grading of the ivy pro- ject snd for the purpose of purchasing the Shadwell site. On motion of Mr. Thraves, seconded by ~r. Smith, with rules being suspended as to second reading, the following resolution was unanimously adopted: BE IT 'RESOLVED by the Board of County Supervisors of Albemarle County, Virginia, that $15~000.00 be and the same is hereby approOriated to initiate the Ivy School project.. On motion of Nr. Garnett, seconded by I~r. Sutherland, with rules being suspended as to second reading~ the following resolution was unanimously adopted: BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Supervisors of Albemarle Co~uuty, Virginia, that $10,000.00 be and the same is hereby appropriated to initiate the Shadwell ~chool project. On motion, the meeting adjourned.
