Pursuant to the following waiver, the members of the Board of County Supervisors of Albemarle
County, Virginia, met in special session on this date with the following members present: Messrs. O.
Purcell Mc0ue, E. J. Ballard, Henry Chiles, C. R. -Dorrier, J. W. Williams and W. W. Wood.-
We, the u~ersigned, members of the Board of County Supervisors of Albemarle County,
Virginia, hereby waive notice, and special service thereof, of a meeting to be h~ld
at 8:00 P.M. on the 26th day of June', 1951, "at the County Office Build-~-8 for the pur-
pose of discussing the county repair shop and general stores and for the purpc~ cf
discussing %'ne procedure followe~ by the Director of Finance in the collection of
past due taxes, and we do hereby consent to the transaction of any and all business
and the taking of such action at aaid meeting upon the matters hereinabeve mentioned
as may Be lawful, incident, and necessary thereto.

is used, and ~. Dottier expressed the opinion that garnishments should be used only as a last reset and
then en!y after a collector had attempted to contactothe taxpayer in person.
Upon motion, ma~e by Mr. Williams and seconded by Nr. Dorrier, the following resolution was
~manimously a~opted:
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of 0catuty Supervisors of Albemarle County,
Virginia, that D. A. Robinson, Director of Finance, be and he is hereby authorized
to proceed with the two garaishments prepared and presented at this meeting,
that no further garnishments be isSUed until the next ~pecial)meeting of this
Board.
Upon motion, the meeting adjourned.
A regular meeting of the Board of 0ounty Supervisors of Albe~m~_rle 0~muty, Virginia, was held
at the Office Building of said County on the 18th day of Jmly, 1951.

Minntes of the meetings of June 20, 1951 and June 26, 1951, were read and approved.
Upon motion, made by Mr. Wood and seconded by Mr. W~lliams, the following resolution was unani-
mously adopted:
BE IT RESOL~ by the Board of County Supervisors of Albemarle County,
Virginia, that a thirty-foot right of way be and is hereby guaranteed the S~ate
Highway Department in connection with the request of this Board of May 16, 1951,
to take into the Secondary System a road beginning at curve on right of Route
641 approximately 200 feet south of branch at A. R. Lockhart's property and bear-
ing east through the property of Loula Y. Durrette Estate to the property of James
W.Rogers and others at Barbeursville, Virginia.
Upon motion, made by Mr. Chiles, seconded by Mr. Williams, the following resolution was unani-
mously adopted:
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Smpervisors of Albemarle Co~uty,
Virginia, that this Board guarantees to the Virginia State Highway Department
the additional right of ~ required for constructing sidewalk on Route 240 in
Crozet, Project 5902-01, and that we request the State Highway Bepartment to pay
for this right of way as se~Ared, the total amount to be refunded to them at the
completion of securing right of way.
A request was received from residents on Route 710 for hard surface on Route 710 from its inter-
section with Route 29 to Red Hill School, a distance of approximately .2 mile, and also requested that a
25 M.P.H. sign be placed on this section of Route 710. Mr. W. W. Shields, Resident Engineer, advised th~
if the residents will agree to pay for calcium for this road, the Highway Department would put it on for
them since this Route was not in the budget for hard surfacing. Mr. Shields further advised that the
petitioners would have to furnish the Highway Department with a written letter agreeing to pay for said
calcium. Mr. Shields a~e advised that the Highway Department had no authority to place a speed limit
offS25 M.P.H. on this road.
