At a ~egular meeting of the Board of Supervisors of Albemarle County
held at the Cotuct ~house of said 'on the 17th day of December 192~.
Present~ J.~I.Fray, C Purcell ~cCue, C.~.~iiller, PtH.~en.~ry and
V~. H. Langhorne.
The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
~SOL~D, that this Board hereby makes application to the Chaizunan of the
state Highway Comu~ission in accordance with the law providing State ~.id ~oney
for its apportionment of said fund for the year beginning Earch 1, 19~5. The whole
amount available being hereby ap'p!ied/'~or, for the construction of the Fr. ee~ Union
Road, County Highway #3 in Wlmite Hall Distric~t. This fund having been a~iti~cipated
by the COunty by the construction already completed.
A delegation of citizens appeared before the Board with a petition
requiring that all officers that have been creadted in the last ten years be
abol~shed, the Board after hearing the several appeals appointed a ~ommittee,
consisting of I~esars Abell and Langhorne, to confer with a sembiler committee
from the. citizens .and make report at a future meeting of t~e Board..
On motion duly seconded it is ordered that R.E.Lee, Supervisor of
roads make an estimate of the probable cost of submerged bridged and ford at
Burks Ei!l over the Hardware River and make report at the next meeting of the
Board.
On mo~ion of C.Purcell EcCue ~amd seconded by P.H. Gentry it is ~rdered
that an extension of limit of one month ~e granted to G.P.Clay on the North Garden
to Batesville Road
On motion of C.Purcell D[cCue and seconded by P.H.Gentry it is ordered

On motion of P.H.Gentry and seconded by C.Purcell !~cCue it is ordered
that the money der~ived from the .Gas be for the year 19£5 be allocated as £o!lows~
1st payment to Ch~lottesville Dist?ict amd second to S~nue! l~iller Distric. t.
~, R,E,Lee, Supt. of Roads, offered his resignation to take effect
Feby 1st 1925 which on motion duly seconded was accepted.
On motion of J.E,Abell and seconded by W.H.L~nghorne it is ordered
that Er. Geo. T.0mohundro, Commissioner of Revenue for District No. I having
elected to accept ~the state basis of commissions,:.allowed commissioners of the
Revenue instead of the percentage basis allowed by the Board is bound no~ to
settle on the state basis.
On motion of C.Purcel! ~cCue and secQnded by P. H.Gentry it is
ordered that R.E.Lee, Supt. of ~oads, write and see how the several other states
conducted their traffic laws.
On motion of J.E.Abeli and seconded by C,Purcell ~cCue it is ordered
that a Corz~ittee consisting of Diessrs Abelt amd Gentry be appointed to look
after the County Home.
~706.47 ef the appropoiation for the unveiling of General ~ee's
~onument was refunded and it is ordered that it be placed to the credit of the
County fund.
G.Stuart Hamm, Treasurer, presented to the Board a statement
together with all warrants paid by him during the month of November 1924.
Board examined the warrants ordered the statement to be filed.
The
R.E.Lee, Supt of Roads report for the month of November was presented,
axamined and ordered to be filed.
