REQUEST LETTER FOR PROPOSED PATIO AT MARTINS GRILL:
ACCOMPANIES LETTER OF REVISION PROPOSAL TO
ALBEMARLE COUNTY DEVELOPMENT OFFICE

This request letter includes the details for construction of a dining patio on the north
side of Martins Restaurant at 3449 Seminole Trail, Charlottesville,Virginia.
The proposed patio will be 35' long, 9' wide and 4" thick, with 3-4" of gravel
underneath the slab. The concrete slab will be colored, brushed concrete.
Two 4' sections of the existing brick parapet wall will be removed, to allow access to
the patio.
The proposed patio and the removed sections of the parapet wall are shown on the
attached 11" X 17 drawing (four copies are included). This drawing is from page ten
of the approved site plan.
The patio will replace existing planted shrubbery, between the existing parapet wall
and the existing curb.
The north edge of the proposed patio will be poured to the top of the existing curb.
Pitch on the slab, from south edge to north edge,will result in most of the rain water
draining over the curb.Along the slab's long axis (west to east),the fall will match
the fall along the existing curb; 3/8" per foot.
Alcohol Beverage Control will tell us the fencing requirements for the patio, once it
has been poured.
