We have reviewed the plans and have the following comments:
Engineering (Bobby Jocz) — No Objection
1. Include project number (SDP201700062) on the cover page for final submittal.

2. Topography is to be at least field verified within the last year. Provide recent date of field
verification.

3. Include Albemarle County's General Construction notes for streets.

4. Sight distance profiles should be provided as part of the road plan submittal in addition to site
plan.

specifically for cars turning onto Nichols Ct. from Eckerson Ct. A stop sign should also be
provided for cars exiting the parking lot adjacent to building C. Ensure all signs are identified
either by labeling or distinct symbol, some are not identified.

6. Paver underdrain extending along Eckerson Ct from the intersection of Eckerson and Nichols
doesn't appear to maintain positive drainage as it extends past the 582 ft contour. Please correct.

1. Recommend shortening the rose of median to accommodate the CG-12 ramps. They should be in
line with the existing/proposed sidewalk, where possible, and oriented perpendicularly to the
crossing entrance or street, see attached sketch.
2. Please show mill & overlay for the adjacent through lane. Please add the WP-2 detail to the plans
from the Road and Bridge standards.
3. Sheet# 5; please change labeling of storm drain structures from SDJ1 and SDJ2, to K1 and K2 to
match site plan.
4. Sheet# 7; storm drain profile, please change labeling of SDJ1 and SDJ2 to K1 and K2.
5. Please provide two copies of the revised plan along with a comment response letter. If further
information is desired, please contact Willis C. Bedsaul at 434-422-9866.
6. A VDOT Land Use Permit will be required prior to any work within the right-of-way. The
owner/developer must contact the Charlottesville Residency Transportation and Land Use Section
at (434) 422-9399 for information pertaining to this process.
