Home My WebLink About1932-10-19 At a Regular meeting of the Board ofSupervisors' of Albemarle County, Virginia, held at the Court House of said County. on the 19th day of October 193£. Present: J.~.Fray~ C.Purceli ~cCue, E.J.Bal!ard, P.H.Gentry and W, H. Langhorn e. She minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. On motion of P.H.Gentry and seconded by E.J.Ballard it is ordered that an appropriation to the Chamber of Commerce of Two Hundred ($200.00) dollars be made. On motion of C.Purcell McOue and seconded by E.J.Ballard it is ordered the payment of the Library Fund be suspended. In the matter of closing that portion of the road formerly known as the Scottsville road from the gate of Nrs Guy A.Dunlop, formerly Eula.J. Robinson, to the New Scottsville goad. The petitioner, Nfs. Guy A.~nl~p, presented satisfactory evidence to the Board that notice of closing said road had been posted on the 1st day of August, 19ES, that being the first day of the August Term of the Circuit Court of Albemarle County, Virginia, at the court House of said County and at two public places in the neighborhood of the road proposed to be closed~ that after said notices had been posted 20 days this Board did at its meeting held on the 2ist day of September 1932~ appoint five viewers to view said road and report in writing whether in their opinion, any, and if any what inconvenience would result from discontinuing said road, that four of your commissioners, N.D.Holladay, ~.O.Thurman, J.B.Kegley and P.C.'~inOr have made their report in writing under date of the 18th day of October 19Z2~ that in accordance with the foregoing order of the said Board they have viewed said road and in their opinion no inconvinence will result to any one if said road is discontinued and closed~ ~x~.I~~~l~ A copy of said report_signed by the commissioners above named was presented to this ~eeting and the Clerk of this Board is ordered tS file said report. In consideration whereof it is ordered by this Board that so much of the old Scottsville road from the gate of Nfs. Guy A.Duntop to the intersection of tke New Scottsville Eoad be~ and it is hereby ordered discon- tinued and closed. A committee of ~essrs Gentry, Batiard, ~cCue and Fife are appointed to investigate the right of way at County Eome and report back to the Board. On motion of W.H.Langhorne and seconded by p.H.Gentry, it is ordered and accepted that the County pay damages to W.R.Winks in the amount of Fifty ($50.00) Dollars for land or soil.
