At a duly called meeting of the County Board of Supervisors of Albemarle
County, Virginia, held at the-Court House on the 31st. day of g anuary 1¢34.

lr~.H.Langhorne and E.J.Ballard.
In the matter of the premium on the bond of G.Stuart Harem.
On motion .of C.Purcell ~cOue and seconded by ~.H.Langhorne the board

upon advice of couneel refused to pay the premium on the bond of .~tuart Harem.
On Motion of E.J.Ballard and seconded by P.H.Gentry it is unanimously
.ordered that the sum of $5,000.00 appropriated to Shenandoah Park be paid.
On motion of C.Purcell ~cCUe and seconded by E.J.Ballard it' is ordered
that the following named per2ons recommended by the county executive be appointed
assessors, namely: S.S.~Teel, R.F.Black, L.O.Huff, c.B.Harris Jr. and E.EoBibb
at a salary of $450.00 each and it is further ordered that the said assessors
make such reports as the county executive may prescribe.
On motion of C.Purcell ~cCue and seconded by P.H.Gentry, it is unanimously
ordered that Mr. Haden, county executive, in conjunction with. the City of
Charlottesville rent a room for Mr. Lewis of the C.W.A.
On motion of w.H.Langhorne and seconded by P.H.Gentry it is ordered that
the two assi~ants in the treasurers office be paid the same salary per month as
of H.A.-Haden, County Executive vs. G.Stuart Harem etc. is decided and it is
further ordered that John S.Graves, County Attorney confer with H.W.Walsh, Atty.
in regard to the salary of G.Stuart Harem pending the decision of the above
mentioned case.

'The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.

COUNTY OF ALBEMARLE TO ?~IT:
VIEWERS~ REPORT
In the matter of opening a public road from Federal State
Eoute ~22 to Eoute 731 through the lands of J.B.Belk, Chesapeake & OhiO Railway Co.
Keswick Hunt Club and the County School Board of Albemarle County.
p..C.Ninor, J.O.Thurman and J.B~egley, three of the viewers
appointed on Novem~l~b~933 to view said road, filed their .report on the
20th day of December 1933 and the board being of opinion that said report was in
due form ~and should be adopted, ordered the Clerk [o s~mmon .J..B. Beik, C.& O. ,~y Co,
Keswick Hunt Club and County School Board of 'Albemarle County..to appear before
the board-on the 17th. day of January-1934 to show good cause, if any, why the
said report should not be adopted~ and on the 17th day of January 1934 for good'
cause shown the matter was continued to February 21st, 1934 and the 21st day
of February 193~ in obedience to the summons the Ees~ck Hunt ~lub and the County
School Board of Albemarle County by its proper officers appeared and accepted
the the Chesapeake & Ohio Railway Co. failed to appear and Mr. J.B.
Belk aPPeared in person and by counsel and excepted to said report and asked
that said report be quashed and set aside and if that coul8 not be done, that
Commissioners be appointed to assess the damages.
Thereupon the Board overruling the motion to quash and set
aside said report, doth order that said report be adopted and spread u~on the
minutes of the board and that B.C.Baker, H.V.~erold, ~.G.V~addell, C.W.Bailey
and E.R.Martin, freeholders, are appointed commissioners, any three of whom after
being duly sworn may act, whose duty it shall be to meet on the grounds and go ow
the road proposed to be adopted as a public road through the lands of J.B.Belk
and others, as per report of viewers, and assess the damage, if any, to the
lands that 'will result to them if said road is adopted as a public road.
They shall meet at ll A.M. February 28th 1934, and shall make
their .report to the Board on the 21st day of ~arch, 1~34.
