RE: ARB -2017-54 AT&T Sign
Dear Doug,
I have reviewed the above -noted sign application as per the ARB's criteria and standards set forth in the
Entrance Corridor Sign Guidelines as well as the Comprehensive Sign Plan established for the
Hollymead Town Center — Area B (this document has been included as an attachment). The following
revisions are requested to make the proposal consistent with the Sign Guidelines and the Hollymead
Town Center — Area B Comprehensive Sign Plan.
1. To -scale drawings are required with building permits to confirm [sign] sizes and locations.
2. At least 4" of clear space (preferably, 6" of clear space) shall be provided above and below each
sign. The logo, in particular is too large for the sign band in which it is placed. To -scale drawings
are necessary to ensure that the lettering also has a 4"-6" clearance within the sign band.
3. The logo is overly large and should be the same height as the channel lettering (20.5")
4. White is the only color approved for the letter faces.
5. The only approved colors for trim caps and returns are bronze and black. The logo's trim caps are
blue.
6. Logos/graphics visible from Route 29 may not be illuminated.
7. Include a color sample of the raceway on the revised drawings in addition to the note that the
raceway color will match the fascia color.
Please respond by email within 15 days of the date of this letter indicating whether you will or will not
proceed with these revisions. Your decision to make the revisions will suspend the 60 -day review period
associated with your original submittal. If you choose to complete the revisions, please email the revised
drawings to me. If you choose not to proceed with these revisions, staff will be unable to approve your
application. Failure to respond to this letter shall be presumed to be a request to proceed to action on the
application without further revisions.
