Dear Max:
Thank you for your correspondence dated May 17, 2012 on the above-referenced project. The
following are responses to the comments received.
1. Plan views modified to show the locations of both the existing and proposed sediment
basin.
2. Proposed basin calculations shown on Sheet ESC-3.
3. Proposed acreage of disturbance added to the "Purpose" portion of the narrative.
4. Protection of the existing pond has been added to the "Critical Areas" portion of the
narrative.
5. "Stormwater Run-Off Considerations" updated on Sheet ESC-1.
6. "Erosion and Sediment Control Measures" description has been updated to structural
practices used in this section.
7. E&S General Construction Notes have been added to Sheet ESC-1.
8. E&SC notes have been updated.
9. Comment acknowledged.

The Erosion and Sediment Control Plan(WPO201200045) submitted 2 May 2012 have received
Engineering Review and do not appear to meet Albemarle County minimum checklist items for
approval. Please adequately address the following comments for final approval:
1. Please submit an overall plan so the location of both proposed basins can be determined.
2. Calculations for Basin#2 are missing from the submittal.
3. Please add the proposed acres of disturbance to the"Purpose"portion of the narrative.
4. Please add protection of the existing Pond to the"Critical Areas"portion of the narrative.
5. Please update the"Stormwater Run-off Considerations"to reflect this proposal.
6. Please update the"Erosion and Sediment Control Measures"description to structural practices
used in this section.
7. Please add the general construction notes to the plan. The notes can be found in the ACDSM

8. Please update the E&SC Notes on the plan. Two additional notes have been added to the required
list.
9. This project will be subject to all requirements of 18-5.1.28 of the Albemarle County Code.
Once these comments have been addressed, please submit 2 copies of the revised plans, calculations, and
narratives to Current Development Engineering along with the required review fee and transmittal form.
Current Development Engineering is available from 2:30-4 PM on Thursdays to discuss these review

included in order for it to be approved shall be deemed to be withdrawn if the owner fails to submit a revised plan addressing the
omitted modifications,terms or conditions within six(6)months after the owner is informed of the omitted information as
provided under paragraph(B).

The Erosion& Sediment Control Plans (WP0201200045) submitted 21 May 2012 has received
Engineering Review and meets Albemarle County minimum checklist items for engineering
approval.
The forms and instructions to request the Water Protection Ordinance Bond amount can be found

You may contact Ana Kilmer(Albemarle County Department of Community Development) at
ext. 3246 for further information on bonding procedures and Maintenance Agreements.
Once the E&SC bond has been posted, you may contact the Department of Community
Development to arrange a pre-construction meeting with a County Erosion& Sediment Control
Inspector. Should the County Inspector find the limits of disturbance increased or the need for
additional control measures required to protect the site, additional fees will be required.
[17-204.G] An approved erosion and sediment control plan shall be void if the owner fails to obtain a
grading,building or other permit for activities involving land disturbing activities within one(1)year after
the date of the approval.
