MITRE is a Federally Funded Research and Development Corporation (FFRDC) headquartered
in McLean, VA. We have maintained a site office in Charlottesville, VA located at 995
Research Park Blvd., #118 since 2009. We are in the process of relocating the site office to
Town Center Two (TC2), 1001 Research Park Blvd. in October 2017.
In Charlottesville, MITRE operates as a type 1 business pursuant to Albemarle County ordinance
18-4.14.8. Accordingly, we have addressed the performance standards of zoning ordinance
section 18-4.14, as follows:
• Noise — MITRE's site operations will not produce noise levels in excess of the
values specified in section 4.14.1.
• Vibration — MITRE does not operate any equipment that creates notable vibration.
* Glare — MITRE's new location features interior lighting that does not generate
glare beyond the property line.
• Air Pollution — There will be no emission of smoke, odors, or gaseous pollutants.
• Water POIlutio:n. -No liquid waste will be generated.
« Radioae.tivrty , MITRE is not handling radioactive materials, therefore there will
be no radioactive emissions.
• Electrical Interference — MITRE's site does not utilize any equipment generating
electrical disturbances.
