Dear Mr. Jocz:
The Department of Transportation, Charlottesville Residency Transportation and Land Use
Section, has reviewed the above referenced plan as submitted by Collins Engineering, dated 20
July 2017, and offers the following comments:
1. The proposed splitter-island should be at least 25 feet in width, see detail on page F-97 of
Appendix F.
2. Please add a note to the plans stating that any fencing associated with the proposed tot lot
must be outside the sight distance easement. Note that all sight distances lines will be
field verified prior to acceptance.

A VDOT Land Use Permit will be required prior to any work within the right-of-way. The
owner/developer must contact the Charlottesville Residency Transportation and Land Use
Section at (434) 422-9399 for information pertaining to this process.
